Gender Neutral

We are a gender neutral salon, with no differentiation between women’s and men’s prices. Not only do we believe this is a modern approach to hairdressing, but an honest one. We have and will always treat our men’s services with the same consideration and precision that we approach our women’s services with. We believe that one price for both - determined by the level of stylist, not the gender of the client - makes sense and reflects the direction of the industry.

Pricing Guidance

Please note that some prices are length dependent and available on consultation. All colour prices are inclusive of a complimentary basic blow-dry with an assistant colourist. We serve a selection of complimentary organic teas, coffee, wine and beer to enjoy with your service.

Booking Policy

Please arrive on time to ensure you receive your full service. If you are running late, we will do everything we can to accommodate you. If you are excessively late, please keep in mind that we may have to reschedule your appointment.

Cancellation Policy

If you wish to cancel or change the date of your appointment we require a minimum of 48 hours notice, as a courtesy to both our stylists and other clients. Failure to give at least 48hrs notice may result in a 20% of service cancellation fee.

Deposit Policy

We require a deposit for all new clients visiting the salon. This is 20% of the value of the service and will be taken upon booking and redeemed against your appointment. Please note, cancelling within our 48 hour policy may result in the deposit not being refunded.

Makeup Bag Overhaul

Our Makeup Bag Overhaul service has been designed to help you upgrade your beauty essentials to natural and organic alternatives. Sit down for a one-on-one consultation with a Glasshouse expert who can recommend how to detox your makeup bag. We aim to provide tips, tailored advice and recommendations based on our range of beauty at Glasshouse Salon. A £30 deposit is taken on booking, redeemable against any products purchased on the day.

Products

Our Products

We are experts in the Organic Colour Systems product range, which are manufactured using sustainable methods in the New Forest, Hampshire. Formulated with Soil Association certified organic ingredients such as vitamin B5, orange peel, aloe vera and quinoa protein, our colour, care and styling products nourish your hair naturally.

We leave out potentially harmful ingredients - our hair colour contains no ammonia, resorcinol or parabens. Each and every shampoo is sulphate and sodium chloride-free and most of our conditioners don’t contain plastics or silicones, which can have a significant effect on marine life. Our products strengthen and repair the hair from the inside out, focusing on long-term results.

Organic Colour Systems

We believe Organic Colour Systems is the safest and gentlest possible hair colour that is currently available. Our experienced team of stylists are able to prioritise hair condition, whilst achieving the lightest blondes, richest browns and most vibrant shades without causing the long-term damage often created by conventional dying methods.

By avoiding harsh chemical additives, the risk of allergic reaction and scalp irritation from colouring is greatly reduced. Our colours are created without the use of ammonia and resorcinol, and contain the lowest possible level of PPD, meaning pigment absorption is greatly reduced. Instead of using a traditional ammonia base, we us a natural moisturising base and a gentle pH adjuster for effective permanent hair colouring.

Organic Colour Systems hair colour contains healing, soothing and antioxidant ingredients that help maintain your hair’s natural pH, protein and moisture levels. Used in conjunction with the appropriate at-home care products, you’ll find that your colour lasts longer and your hair stays naturally vibrant and shiny.

Environmental Policy

Here at Glasshouse Salon we care about what’s best for you, the environment and our staff. Because of this we have sourced what we believe are the cleanest and greenest products available, from our hair colour to the drinks we serve and even the cleaning products we use.

Our products are sustainably sourced, non-animal tested and wherever possible the ingredients are fair trade and organic. All our packaging is recyclable and we are always working to come up with inventive new ways to lower our carbon footprint.

Skin Testing & Allergies

At Glasshouse Salon, we endeavour to use products with the lowest possible risk of an allergic reaction. However, it is important to note that allergies can be caused by any number of things, even natural ingredients.

Because of this, it is our policy that all new colour clients take part in a skin patch test prior to their appointment. These can be done at the salon, or can be sent to you via post to be carried out at least 48 hours prior to your appointment.

Cruelty Free

None of our products are ever tested on animals and the vast majority are suitable for vegans (with the exception of a small number of products that contain either beeswax or a milk or honey derivative).

The Organic Colour Systems colour range is 100% vegan and certified by both PETA and Choose Cruelty Free. 92% of the hair and beauty products we stock are also vegan. We stock brands whose ethics are in line with our environmental ethos - we believe in naturally-powerful products that minimise harm to the planet and its people.
